Checklist for Posting on fca.vu
- Mark FCA as Author
- Apply Tag: the source of the article (name of publication, institution, organization, etc.)
- Apply Category: choose in list (several possible)
- Choose a Featured image
- It should be wide enough, minimum 16:9 ratio. If too narrow, use the Canvas Size tool in an Image editor to reach the correct width.
- Choose an image that is dark enough to read white text over it
- Choose an image without text in it if possible
- Use the picture of the author when possible, or of the main topic
- To find images:
- Either re-use a previous image from the gallery,
- OR use a Creative Commons-licenced from Google Image Search (click on Tools > Usage rights)
- OR use a royalty free image from sources such as Unsplash
- If the original document is a PDF file:
- Insert file on top of the post, below the H1 title.
- Uncheck “Show inline embed”
- Uncheck “Show download button”
- Rename the link “Download the original publication”
- Just below the file link, insert the image of the document’s cover if it’s worth it (ex. official reports)
- Export the cover as JPG then insert
- Align right
- Width 350px
- Caption: “click to download”
- If the content of the original document is not too long, copy and paste the entire document inside the post. Reproduce the title hierarchy using H2-H3-H4 headings. Images from the document can also be re-used for comfort of reading.
- Insert file on top of the post, below the H1 title.
- If the original document is a web page:
- Insert link to the page on top of the post, below the H1 title.
- Type “Read the original publication”
- Make a link to the page
- Click on the “V” symbol and choose “Keyboard Input”
- If the content of the original document is not too long, copy and paste the entire document inside the post. Reproduce the title hierarchy using H2-H3-H4 headings. Images from the document can also be re-used for comfort of reading.
- Insert link to the page on top of the post, below the H1 title.
